Platon Theodoris is an Australian film director, producer & screenwriter.

Alvin’s Harmonious World of Opposites, Platon’s debut feature film premiered at the 2015 Revelation Perth International Film Festival and then won Best Narrative Feature at the 9th Sydney Underground Film Festival. Its North American premiere at the 2016 Slamdance Film Festival in Park City was a sellout. It went on to screen at Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood and Chicago. In 2017 the film won the Special Jury Prize for Best First Feature at the 50th WorldFest Houston International Film Festival.

Platon has made four short films: Para-Soul, SunriseLakemba & Wine Lake. These films have screened at film festivals including Singapore, Brisbane, London BFI, Busan, St Kilda, Raindance, Flickerfest and Vancouver. His most recent short Wine Lake won the Nicolas Baudin Award for Best Short Film at the Festival des Antipodes in St Tropez.

Platon holds a Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies) from the University of NSW, which included a two-year film-directing component (completed on an exchange) at The Jakarta Institute of Arts in Indonesia.

The Cinematographer & The Editor

Brian Rapsey is a Canadian born Australian filmmaker skilled in many disciplines - particularly cinematography and editing.

Brian’s first collaboration with director Platon Theodoris was as cinematographer & editor on the multi-award winning short film “Wine Lake.” The Lonely Spirits Variety Hour is Brian’s first full length feature credit.

Trained in writing and directing at the Victorian College of the Arts School of Film & TV (formerly Swinburne).

7 + years as filmmaking mentor for the winner of the World Nomads International Travel Film Scholarship

Online Editor + Post-Production supervisor + Regional Producer Mentor for the ABC's pioneering digital film channel "Fly TV"; 6 years video production teaching at Metro Screen.

BA in History and Anthropology (University of Western Australia) and a Graduate Diploma in Adult and Migrant Education (UTS).
